In our final session I will discuss the ACT Matrix and its use as an assessment tool and for ongoing collaborative work with parents.

I will talk about the important topic of parental burnout and how to foster its opposite, parental resilience.

Finally, we will discuss therapist burnout and explore ways we can stay resilient ourselves when this work can be depleting.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the ACT Matrix as an assessment and collaborative tool for supporting parents and caregivers.
  • Recognize signs of parental burnout and apply strategies to foster resilience and sustained engagement.
  • Identify therapist burnout risks and implement practices to maintain personal and professional wellbeing.
  • Integrate ACT Matrix processes into daily parenting and clinical routines to enhance flexibility, awareness, and values-driven action.
  • Develop experiential skills to guide parents and caregivers in reflective, compassionate, and effective strategies that promote family and caregiver resilience.
